Using a free trial on ScanVue I tried to scan 4 negative which took around 15 minutes and multiple passes, compared to 4 or so minutes on QuickScan. Which software to use? I tried the QuickScan that came with the scanner but I'm finding a lot of info online about how much the software effects the quality of the scans. Is a dedicated scanner even necessary? I already own a macro Nikon lens, albeit no DSLR, but I'm wondering if this might be a cheaper avenue than the scanner.
I've been doing some research and I'm getting a little frustrated with all the information out there on how to scan film, so I have some questions. Previously I had been getting all my rolls developed and digitized at a local store (that would send it to a lab somewhere). I've been shooting film for half a year or so now and was recently gifted a Plustek OpticFilm 135i scanner.
