The iMac has a TimeMachine and other Hard Drives for backup which would also need to be encrypted should I FileVault the iMac. Note: A MacBook Pro shares files with the iMac. Will FileVault cause me any issues in the future with software updates, etc.? I've searched in the forum for recent info and/or questions on FileVault and haven't run across anything. Is there any reason to stick with an encrypted folder over using FileVault?ģ. What are best practices and/or things I should do or think about prior to encryption with FileVault?Ģ. To FileVault or not to FileVault? I'm thinking of encrypting my iMac (and a MacBook Pro) rather than using an encrypted folder - for ease of use with more than one person.
